The Packard Institute, Inc. is the vision of Raynard Dean Packard. Having worked with area teens and their families since 1992, he became aware of a deep and abiding need for more effective counseling interventions. The institute was conceived to meet those unique needs, and is "My passion, my Raison d'Etre - my reason for being." The recovery and healing communities have rallied behind The Institute. P.I.'s doors opened on May Day, 2007.
Raynard spent his errant youth running with the infamous Z-Boys of Dogtown (Venice, California), and he deeply understands overcoming chaos, trauma, and addiction. As a U.S. Army paratrooper he learned the core values of honor and discipline
Following degrees at both Santa Monica College and the University of Akron, Raynard studied at Ashland Theological Seminary and took a Master's in Counseling . He has worked with teens and families in clinical corrections, residential, mental health, and private practice settings. He is available for addiction interventions, workshops and other teaching events.
